Time and moves

How scoring works

There is no point total. Today's place is your official time, then how few moves you used.

What you're racing

Clear the deal as quickly as you can. If two people finish in the same time, the one with fewer moves ranks higher. Undo does not change your place; it is recorded but not used for ranking.

The clock

Time starts on your first move, not when the page loads, and stops when the last card lands. Leaving the tab does not pause it. Looking at the table before you play is free.

Moves

Each of these adds one move:

  • Drawing a card from the stock
  • Recycling the waste back into the stock
  • Moving a card or a run (including to or from a foundation)

Revealing a face-down card is included in the move that uncovered it, not counted extra. Undo steps the board back and does not add a move.

Official vs practice

Your first win of today's deal is official. That time and move count go on today's leaderboard. If an early line dies, you can restart and still take that official place. Finishing again after a win is practice: it still counts for your streak and unlocks, but it never replaces the official result and never appears on the board.

Random games are just for play. They don't have a daily number, a leaderboard place, or a streak.

Streaks

A streak is consecutive Daily dates you've finished, including practice completions. It stays alive through today until you miss a whole challenge day (midnight US Eastern). Your device also keeps a personal best streak on Your Stats.

Played today

“X played today” is unique people who started today's deal — not page views, and not only people who won. Refreshing or restarting does not count you twice.

Nicknames

The leaderboard shows a nickname you choose, or Anonymous. Player IDs never appear in URLs or on the board.
